Before and after
Bright Frog:
City garden chic.
We got the call to a prestigious new development in central Cambridge to sort out the garden. The house had been rented out and as you can see from the pictures below the garden had literally gone to seed...
Once the jungle had been cleared we built a raised, curvaceous, sandstone patio trimmed in aluminium with inset, low voltage, white LED up lights. An informal black limestone path, featuring a mosaic leaping fish, ran from the back gate to the shed and patio. Scattered along its course we set blue LED uplights and pointed up with black mortar.
A mixture of grasses and architectural planting filled the two beds which we dressed with cobbles, we bought in three grades of stone to give the garden a naturalistic feel. The picture above shows a detail of one of the beds.
All the fences were painted and the shed had a large mirror fixed to it, both measures really helped to give the garden the air being a lot larger than its physical dimensions.
After we completed the job we got complaints that the neighbours were suffering from "garden envy" and have since helped remedy their symptoms by giving their own gardens the Bright Frog treatment.
Total budget for this project was £9000.00.
